2 Year Nursery Provision

From a child's very first day in 2 Year Nursery, all the way through to Year 6 we support children to make the right 'CHOICES' to enable them to grow into well-rounded, motivated individual.

We know this is such an important time in your child’s school life, where routines are established and relationships are built between home and school. We will always do our best to work closely with you, to ensure that your child has a smooth start to their school career in such a way that you as well as the children feel comfortable, supported and respected.

Indoor Environment


We enjoy using different resources to mark make.	We enjoy filling and pouring with the water toys.	We enjoy looking at the bugs using magnifying glasses.	We select number resources and toys from the drawers.	We enjoy role play and this half term we have a shop.


We enjoy pushing the cars up and down the ramps.	We enjoy selecting toys from the baskets.	We share stories every day.	We are learning to use the bathroom independently.	We wash our hands independently.

Outdoor Environment


We enjoy climbing up the ladders and going down the slide.	We are busy planting this half term.	We take lots of trips in our car.	We enjoy painting and drawing outside.	We enjoy exploring in our mud kitchen.

2 Year Nursery Timetable

At Rift House we aim for your child to participate in a broad and balanced curriculum. Our timetable shows various opportunities that your child will access daily, including opportunities for the brushing of teeth.

Supporting at home

Things you can support at home with:

Sharing stories and encouraging your child to name things they can see and make links to their own experiences.

Singing nursery rhymes, action songs and number songs.

Recognising their own coat and beginning to help put it on and take it off.

Reminders

2 Year Morning Nursery session

Doors open at 8.30am and close at 8.45am

Parents are invited into Nursery for the first 15 minutes of each session

Doors open again for collection at 11.30am

2 Year Afternoon Nursery session

Doors open at 12.15pm and close at 12.30pm

Parents are invited into Nursery for the first 15 minutes of each session

Doors open again for collection at 3.15pm

Staff will be available before and after each nursery session, if you have any questions, concerns, or queries please don’t hesitate to talk to us.

Please let us know in advance if your child is going to be picked up by someone other than the agreed adults.

Home Reading

All children will bring home a book to share every Monday. Books need to be returned to Nursery by Thursday.

Please ensure all clothing is labelled with your child's name and your child has a set of spare clothes on their peg.

Autumn 1 2022

What we have been up to inside....

We enjoy sharing different stories and exploring the different areas. We make the babies better, makes homes for the animals and go shopping in our supermarket. We explore the paints and mark making tools and enjoy sand and water play.

What we have been up to outside...

In the garden we enjoy using the bikes, seesaw and slide. We go on lots of journies in our large wooden car and we enjoy looking for bugs. We plant seeds and water them every day.

What we have been up to inside...

We have been enjoying making roads for the cars, getting creative with paint, scissors and glue, sharing stories in the dark den, bathing the babies and brushing our teeth.
